JAKE BURGHART graduated from Full Sail in Winter Park, FL in 1999. He Moved to Gainesville, where he published Transition Video Magazine with a group of friends. In 2003 he set out on the road with burgeoning punk band, Against Me! Fat Wreck Chords released his first full length documentary, We're Never Going Home, which documents the band’s experience of going from underground punks to mainstream darlings. In 2005 he moved to New York City where he started editing The VICE Guide to Travel. From there he came on as a full time employee for VBS.TV, and helped create a style and workflow for the online network before it's launch. Since then Jake has done work all over VBS.TV, producing, shooting, and editing. In 2007 he teamed up with Meredith Danluck and Thomas Morton on a trip to the North Pacific Gyre to make Garbage Island. He is currently producing a second season of School of Surf, a 6 part series for VBS and MTV as well as working on his own show for VBS.TV, Hi Shredability. Jake spreads his time equally between New York and LA and tries to spend as much time in the ocean as he can.
